The OnePlus 3T looks almost identical to the OnePlus 3 and feels incredibly premium with it’s metal uni-body construction.

Cut from a single slab of aluminum, the smartphone looks sleek and svelte, especially in the new Gumetal Grey colour. It will also be available in a soft gold finish which will be launched very soon.

While the design is nothing new, with echoes of Samsung’s S7, iPhone 6s/7 and the recent wave of Chinese metal smartphones, it looks very classy and sophisticated.
The only ‘sore’ point of the design has to be the camera that sticks out of the back which breaks the flow of the design.

The front is an all-glass affair protected by Gorilla Glass 4, with the front camera, a notification LED, the proximity sensor, ambient light sensor and the earpiece on the top and the capacitive key for back and recent apps along with the physical home button underneath the display.

As for the improved front camera, OnePlus has doubled the resolution of the front camera from 8-megapixel on the OnePlus 3 to 16-megapixel on the OnePlus 3T – whilst also switching sensors from the Sony IMX179 with 1.4-micron pixels to the Samsung 3P8SP with 1-micron pixels.

Finally, the OnePlus 3T gets a larger 3400mAh battery compared to the 3000mAh offering on the OnePlus 3. It once again supports Dash Charge (5V 4A) fast charging technology.

Everything else about the two smartphones is identical. The OnePlus 3T bears the same anodised aluminium metal unibody design, the same fingerprint sensor on the home button, and the same Alert Slider apart from capacitive hardware keys. It also comes with the same USB 2.0 Type-C port, and a 3.5mm headphone jack.

It sports a 5.5-inch full-HD (1080×1920 pixels) Optic AMOLED display with Corning Gorilla Glass 4 protection. The SoC is coupled with 6GB of LPDDR4 RAM.

Connectivity options on the OnePlus 3T include 4G LTE (with support for India’s LTE bands), Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 4.2, NFC, and GPS/ A-GPS. It bears the same measurements as the OnePlus 3 at 152.7×74.7×7.35mm, and the same weight at 158 grams.
