Google’s New Smartphones Will Be Called Pixel and Pixel XL
In recent days, we have seen tech giant Google is changing the Nexus into another brand. A couple of sources are claiming this is true and the next Google smartphones will be branded under the Pixel series.
According to the sources, Google settled on Pixel and Pixel XL for the HTC-made Sailfish and Marlin that we had spotted in many leaks. However, according to Android Police, it is still not clear that when Google decided to shift its smartphone brand Nexus to Pixel.
According to Android Police, the accurate source claims that The Pixel (5 inches) will be the running on HTC-made Sailfish whereas the Pixel Xl (5.5 inches) will be running on Marlin. The sources also say that the new smartphones from Google are expected to be released on October 4th.
Android Police mentioned that “One of our sources claims Google plans to market the Pixel and Pixel XL as the first phones built by Google. This seems a bit disingenuous. We remain completely certain the Pixel and Pixel XL will be built by HTC – they’ll merely lack HTC’s branding.”
“And while Google may be solely responsible for their industrial design, to insinuate that HTC was nothing but a manufacturing partner would probably be fiction. I would not be surprised if that relationship blurs the ODM/OEM lines far more than Google may suggest in its future marketing. But we’ll have to wait and see.”
It addition to the Pixel and Pixel Xl, it is expected that Google will also unveil a new 4k Chromecast device, Google home an in-house design for a Daydream VR viewer.
