#1 Method. Reinstalling your USB drivers:

Most of the times USB devices doesn’t get recognized because Windows drivers are corrupted so follow below steps to Reinstall the drivers.

Step 1. Right click on Windows and open the Device Manager

Step 2. You need to find Universal Serial Bus controllers option and click on it to expand. After that just right-click on the USB drivers option and click uninstall. if you have more than 1 USB driver then uninstall all of them too.

Step 3. In some computers after uninstalling the USB drivers, you can install them by restarting the PC automatically or you can install them manually from your driver’s CD.

#2 Method. Uninstall Unknown USB devices from the list:

Step 1. To do this open run by pressing Windows Logo + R and type “devmgmt.msc” then click ‘OK’.

Step 3. You will get a window of Universal Serial Bus controllers. Click on it to expand.

Step 4. Now attach your USB device which is not recognized.


Step 5. You will see an Unknown USB device (Port reset failed) with a yellow sign in Universal Serial Bus controllers.

Step 6. Right click on it then click uninstall

Step 7. Now restart your PC, the drivers are automatically reinstalled after the restart.


#3 Method. Change the USB Selective Suspend Settings:

Step 1. Right-click on the battery icon and click Power Options.


Step 2. Click Change plan settings.


Step 3. Now click Change advanced power settings.


Step 4. Find and expand USB settings.


Step 5. Expand USB selective suspend settings and Disable both On battery and Plugged in settings.


Step 6. Then Click Apply and OK to save the settings. That’s it.
